My concentration focused on the many different people and animals in my life. These days there is too much attention paid to how people look or present themselves, and there is not enough focus on who people are. I wanted to depict my people the way I see them- all of the love, happiness, joy, grief, and annoyance they give me. I did this by first creating a depiction of how they look and then portraying their personality through the background. I wanted to open up and explore the personality of each of these people. My art includes my life long family friends, my sister, my beloved cat, and my boyfriend. This stretches to my cat because she was a stray and incredibly skittish before she came to live with my family, but as she has spent more time with us she has grown more affectionate. Her personality is incredibly important to how we interact and why I love her.

My favorite part of my concentration was my inclusion of glitter. I think it added to my art because it represented the joy each of these people, or pets, bring to my life. Each person brings joy differently, but each is precious.
